Dada


Dada was an artistic movement which began in the early 20th century in Zurich and became an international movement. It was not art, it was an anti-art. Dada was to represent the opposite of what art actually meant, that started during the horror times of World War 1. It was begun by a group of artists and poets. No one really knows from where the name was originated. This movement consists of visual arts, literature, poetry, art theory, theater and graphic design. Dada was intended to offend shock and damage people. Abstraction, expressionism and cubism were mainly influenced by Dada. There was no specific medium used it started from geometric tapestries to glass to plaster and wooden reliefs also photography was used, collages and assemblage.
